- Meanstatistics
The arithmetic average — sum the numbers, divide by how many there are.
Also known as: average - Medianstatistics
The middle value when the numbers are listed in order.
- Modestatistics
The value that appears most often in a list.
- Multiplearithmetic
A number you get by multiplying another number by a whole number.

A number out of 100, written with the % sign.

The total distance around the outside of a shape.
- Pi (π)geometry
The ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter — about 3.14159.
- Polynomialalgebra
An expression with one or more terms, each a constant times a power of a variable.
- Prime numberarithmetic
A whole number greater than 1 whose only factors are 1 and itself.
- Probabilitystatistics
How likely an event is, given as a number between 0 and 1.
- Proportionarithmetic
A statement that two ratios are equal.

- Radiusgeometry
The distance from the centre of a circle to its edge.
- Rangefunctions
The set of outputs a function actually produces.
- Ratioarithmetic
A way to compare two quantities by division — written 3:5 or 3/5.
- Rational numberarithmetic
A number that can be written as a fraction of two integers.
- Right anglegeometry
An angle of exactly 90°.
- Rootalgebra
A value that makes an equation true, or the inverse of a power (e.g. square root).
